creative exercise: material moods

Recently I have been wanting to explore some new creative hobbies. While I love photography, it can often be hard to separate my commercial work from my personal work. A few years ago I interned for an interior designer, and one of my jobs was to organize the fabric sample library. I had access to thousands of fabric, and was allowed to take any that struck my fancy! They sat in a box for years but I couldn’t seem to get rid of them. Each one seemed to have its own personality. Today I thought that I would do a mini creative exercise and arrange them with some fellow prints and objects. It’s really refreshing to create things with my hands instead of staring at my computer screen and processing images. I hope you enjoy these little ‘material moodboards’!
